From Our Family to Yours

A Mother's Love in Every Dish

A Mother's Love in Every Dish

Our founder, Ina, moved to the U.S. alone at age 20, creating Matko from a deep longing for her mom’s home-cooked Korean meals. We bring the comfort of a Korean kitchen to your table with dishes made for family—with love, care, and no shortcuts. Today, Ina, her mom, and their family cook side-by-side, serving the flavors of their home. It’s warm, honest food, made to share a mother’s love. At Matko, you're not just a guest you’re family. And mom’s been expecting you.
How It All Started

How It All Started

Matko located in the bustling heart of San Francisco in 2018, we opened our doors with a simple mission: to make authentic Korean cuisine accessible to everyone. Korean food, rich in flavor and health benefits, has long been under-discovered. We set out to change that, one meal at a time.

At Matko, family isn't just an idea; it's the secret ingredient in every dish. Our culinary journey is a family affair, with recipes and traditions passed down through generations. Our definition of "Korean Flavor" is the food we eat daily at home—the humble dishes our mom makes, filled with love and great energy.
